When Waiting Seems Unreasonable
This passage in Genesis is often greatly over spiritualized. People want to read every sort of theological truth into the sending out of the raven and the doves. But the lesson of Genesis 8:1-19 is quite simple. Sometimes we have to wait on God even when waiting seems unreasonable.
- God easily overcame the waters.
- God didn’t cause the waters to recede as quickly as they came.
- Despite Noah knowing the ground was dry, he waited on God to leave the ark.
- Those coming out of the ark had a relationship change – they are spoken of as family.
