Our guest, Dr. David Norman, expounds Psalm 1 for our Sunday morning service.
Brother David begins by describing two different path’s that one can choose. He opens with an illustration of wanting to get going in the right direction.
But there is a wrong direction we can take. David illustrates the wrong path by saying it is like McDonalds. While McDonalds may appear alluring at first, David teaches, but can has anyone ever had McDonalds even look like the advertisements?
Just as McDonalds hamburgers come with thin beef, sloppy cheese, old buns, and wilted warm lettuce, so also the way of wickedness wants to allure our sight, but it ultimately is disappointing. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death” (Prov. 14:12).
After illustrating the wicked path, David continues to open Psalm one for us, by describing the path of the righteous. David bids us to take deep-roots before the storms come. Only with deep-roots can one always have the nourishing water needed for growth.
